Welcome

I’m in the process of putting this new site together. Please pardon the dust. 😉

If you’d like to see a site of mine that is more buttoned up, check out ☀️ Brilliancy Counseling.

Do you struggle with being complex, sensitive, and different from most people?

Finding your center in a neuronormative society can sometimes feel like a tall order. I’ve been there (still am sometimes), and I can help.

I’m Sasha Strong, and I know how it feels not to fit in. As a queer, transfeminine, non-binary autistic person, I have lived experience of erasure, marginalization, and minority stress— and it sucks!

But it’s not all bad! Being a queer weirdo helps me feel alive, stay present, and be in the flow.

To build resilience and responsiveness in my life, I got deep into mindfulness, embodiment, and holistic healing. Then I decided to become a therapist to help others do that for themselves.

If you’re into that and we’re a good fit, I’d like to help you, too. 😄

If you’re an empathic, attuned, curious, and creative person, I might be a good fit. I offer individual and group therapy, and I particularly enjoy working with autistic, non-binary, queer, and trans folks. I also have a pretty good track record with other therapists, graduate students in mental health fields, and folks who are drawn to social, creative and intellectual pursuits.

The stress that comes from difference and marginalization can show up many ways. Although I have mixed feelings about mental health diagnosis, I feel that sometimes labels provide helpful keywords or handles for working with experience. Here are some of the keywords that I’ve been able to help with in the past:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • gender dysphoria
  • gender transition
  • LGBTQIA2+ affirmation
  • autism
  • giftedness
  • bipolar disorder
  • life transitions
  • vocational orientation
  • spiritual experiences
  • psychedelic integration

I usually work with clients on a weekly or every-other-week basis, whether online or in person in my office in SE Portland. I also offer group therapy and training groups.
If any of the above sounds like a match, I would love to hear from you!
